About

A practitioner, not a training company.

Saintilco Consulting was founded by Mel Wong. Nine years in enterprise finance systems, most of it inside Workday Financials, and still doing the configuration work rather than only writing about it.

Background

Where the opinions come from

Independent Workday Financials consulting since 2022: data conversion architecture, financial reporting, professional services automation, grants and sponsored programs, customer contracts, and integration work including bank payment files and settlement.

That work has run across healthcare, asset management and hedge funds, professional services and accounting firms, higher education, commercial real estate, insurance, non-profits, logistics and enterprise technology. Different industries, the same four questions underneath: who owns this control, where does the evidence live, what breaks at close, and can you prove it to someone who is paid to doubt you.

The controls and audit material in these products comes from having sat on the other side of it, supporting external audits on expense approval matrices and journal event access reviews. The chart of accounts material comes from having designed and remapped them under deadline.

Saintilco is the consulting practice and it is deliberately separate from my employment. Nothing on this site draws on any employer's systems, data or work.

How I work

Three things worth saying plainly

Prices are published. Every comparable offering in this market says contact us. I think that wastes your time and mine, so the numbers are on the pages.

I say what I have not seen. The Workday rate card and credit policy are not publicly available and I have not read them. Everything I publish that draws on them is labelled as third-party reported, and the materials are built to work without them.

I will tell you if this is the wrong purchase. If the calculator says your exposure is four thousand dollars, do not buy an eight hundred and fifty dollar kit to manage it. That is in the calculator verdict and I would rather you read it there than find out afterwards.
